Watching the mass on
YouTube by
Father Anderson Gomes this Sunday (04/05/2020), his homily makes us reflect and draw a parallel regarding the current world we live in. Here, I will describe, from my point of view, the 6 points he raised so that we do not wish to return to normal life as it was before, after this pandemic.
1- We need to stop being traitors, selfish, mercenaries, as we were in our normal life

How many times have we betrayed ourselves or especially the people we love? How many times have we sabotaged ourselves? We tend to put money above everything, to be selfish, to do everything for financial compensation.
We need to rethink a little about the way we act. We need to think a little more about others. We do not need to want everything for ourselves, as it may leave something lacking for someone else. We need to care about the general well-being. We cannot be slaves to money.
We should not take advantage of a bad situation for someone to benefit ourselves. We have to know how to share.
2- We need to stop being violent
Violence breeds violence. Love breeds love. We need a more loving, more compassionate world. We cannot hit back with the same force we are hit. We need to understand that every action generates a reaction and that if we act positively, the reaction will also be positive.
3- We need to care more about others

We cannot be complacent. We cannot fail to help those in need. We need to be more active, more present. We need to care more about others, starting in our own home, in our work.
Knowing how to listen is very important. After we detect the problem and if we have a solution for it, we need to intervene so that nothing bad happens to the other party. We cannot allow anything bad to happen to another person if we have the chance and possibility to prevent it.
4- We need to better understand the signs we receive
While we are going through this moment, confined in our homes, we are also having a great opportunity to make significant changes in our lives and in the way we see the world. This also applies to our professional life. Let’s see a little further. We need to interpret the world better.
We need to renounce everything that is bad within us. All our bad behaviors, we need to get rid of everything that harmed us. We are having this chance now.
We need to let a new life emerge, with more love, faith, and wisdom. We need to allow ourselves to look at the world with a new perspective. We need to act in our professional life differently from how we acted before. What change can we make? What new things can we implement? What can we do differently and for the better in this new scenario that is emerging?
5- We need to acknowledge the mistakes made previously

Let’s analyze our lives. What did we do wrong? What mistakes did we make? What was done that should not have been done? We need to point all this out, to remember everything, no matter how painful it may be, so that from the bottom of our hearts, we do not make the same mistakes again.
Learning from our mistakes is extremely important. We all make mistakes. What we cannot do is repeat the same mistake once it has been detected and reconfigured in our minds.
6- We need to want a new life and not want to return to the normal life we had before
We must be vigilant in not wanting to return to the way we lived. After this period of deep reflection, we are having the chance to want a new life. We are having the opportunity to meditate, think, and act.
I do not want to go back to being like before. My company is not the same as it was before. I will be a much better person. My company will be much better. I am having the opportunity now to make several changes and I am doing so.
And you? What have you been doing? How have you acted to not wish to return to normal life? What is going through your mind at this moment? Does what I wrote make any sense to you?
