This moment calls for the unity of all so that the crisis generated by the new coronavirus (Covid-19) – whether in health or the economy – has the least possible impact on society. And universities play a fundamental role in this condition, as they are where professionals are trained to understand the world and, with that, develop solutions in various fields of knowledge.

Thinking this way, with the purpose of uniting the academic community, the Universidade Vila Velha (UVV) launched the Conexão do Bem|UVV Program. According to the institution's professor Denise Endringer, it is especially in moments like this that these actions become fundamental for the lives of thousands of people.

"The program encompasses all the projects and actions that the University already carries out or that have been recently implemented, aimed at supporting the community as a whole, whether by offering what the Institution has best to offer – knowledge – or by more specific and emergency measures. Only together, connected, can we transform reality positively," says Denise.

Learn below about the actions developed by UVV during this period: FOOD DONATION:

UVV delivered four tons of food (in basic baskets) and personal hygiene materials to the project "O bem que contagia." Through this project, all donated materials reached various families in Greater Vitória, who need support to overcome this difficult moment caused by the pandemic. For more information about the project, visit the website http://www.obemquecontagia.com.br/ or Instagram @obemquecontagiaa.

Anyone can join this cause and be a multiplier of good. Donations can be made in the form of: food, hygiene materials, or also through the PicPay of the project O Bem que Contagia. Any amount can mean a lot to a family. To do this, just access @obemquecontagia directly in the PicPay app and, when making your donation, identify it as "Conexão do Bem – UVV."

PRODUCTION AND DONATION OF HAND SANITIZER FOR PUBLIC TRANSPORT USERS:

In UVV's laboratories, more than two thousand 60ml bottles of hand sanitizer were produced, which will be distributed to public transport users in Greater Vitória. In addition, the action will disseminate information and guidance to the population about the importance of hand hygiene, aiming to reduce the spread of the coronavirus in public transport.

PARTICIPATION IN THE SEROLOGICAL SURVEY OF VILA VELHA:

In support of the municipality of Vila Velha during the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, through a partnership with the State Health Secretary of Espírito Santo (SESA), 46 nursing students are voluntarily participating in the execution of the city's Serological Survey. This action aims to estimate the percentage of residents in ES with SARS-Cov-2, the percentage of asymptomatic or subclinical infections, the speed of infection spread, and establish the extent of the impact across various regions of ES.

ONLINE AND FREE PSYCHOLOGICAL SUPPORT:

Since April 8, UVV's Psychology Clinic has been providing online and free psychological support for the entire academic community and their families. The initiative aims to provide psychological support during the social isolation period of the pandemic. Appointments must be made by phone at the numbers below, during the indicated hours:
