Brides seek therapeutic assistance to ensure everything goes perfectly The wedding sector is expected to generate R$ 40 billion in 2022, according to a survey conducted by the platform Casar.com published on the Mercado e Consumo website. After the return of events, celebrations have resumed growth with the holding of ceremonies and parties. September has arrived, and for several years this period has been highly sought after by couples, alternating with the month of December. "It’s a month with milder weather, the season of flowers, perfect for ceremonies," says integrative therapist Isabela Barcelos. Weddings are usually planned a year in advance. After choosing the venue, it’s necessary to align the dress, suits, catering, invite the best men and bridesmaids, choose the location for the ceremony and party, favors, music, etc. And amidst all this, some brides become anxious and insecure. Isabela reports that she sees many brides who present symptoms of anxiety regarding various dilemmas such as: fear of failing in organizing the ceremony, stress with suppliers, conflicts and friction with the groom or family members, etc. "Perfectionism takes over people when they are planning such an important event in their lives, and crises arise," affirms the therapist. "I have already attended brides who had issues even with the ceremony planners, who are the people that will guide them through the process, but who sometimes do not meet expectations," she points out. The therapist observes that these problems end up influencing people's health and that she has attended brides who experienced weight gain, skin allergies, migraines, insomnia, loss of libido, and even digestive problems. "Everything reflects on physical and mental health," emphasizes Isabela. Having been in this market for almost ten years, she says she created an exclusive service for brides precisely after realizing all these anxieties. "I was already helping brides in conflict and assisted many in going through this moment, but after I planned my own wedding, I could feel firsthand what they were going through," states Isabela. The integrative therapist created ‘Acolher Noivas’ where she attends brides directly. "I offer emotional support for them to arrive at the big day balanced and aligned with their purpose of experiencing this moment," she explains. I have brides who continue therapy after the wedding to navigate daily life and the beginning of a new part of their lives, feeling complete.
