A new year begins, and the trends in the beauty universe follow a natural style and acceptance of what many experienced during the peak of the pandemic. When it comes to hair, volume is on the rise, whether in cuts that enhance the strands or simply in hair that is already like that. “The volume of the strands has been highlighted due to wavy highlights, and even those who do not have curls invest in cuts and hairstyles finished with ‘baby liss’ to achieve the desired effect,” explains hairstylist Ana Paula Leite, head of Be Spa Urbano. The specialist notes that the naturalization of hair during the pandemic led many clients to embrace their curls, and we were responsible for cuts that enhance them and for hair therapy protocols to hydrate them,” emphasizes Ana Paula. “Moreover, even for those born with straighter hair, it was possible to invest in cuts that create volume and give the movement that everyone seeks,” she states.
Another trend pointed out by Ana Paula is bangs. “Many lovely ladies have opted for bangs in search of a little extra charm – both straight and wavy – and the detail looks good on everyone. “We got a lot of bangs right when people started going out again – due to those who did it on their own - but the detail of the cut is an option that suits everyone; we just need to analyze the symmetry of the face, among other factors,” Ana Paula affirms.
ColorsAmong the colors, Ana Paula highlights that in summer, highlights are the biggest trend: “There’s no way to imagine summer without illuminated hair with blonde highlights, darker roots, or completely blonde; it’s the big highlight of the season, with tanned skin and golden strands already being a symbol of the hottest season,” emphasizes the hairstylist. “But nothing takes away the shine from brunettes; on the contrary, they also brighten their hair with blonde or copper highlights,” she points out.
Additionally, since last year, we have noticed the trend of colors – not the traditional ones – but rather pink, blue, green, and purple in hair. “This was a trend that emerged at the beginning of last year, and with the pandemic, it wasn’t seen much on the streets; however, now with fewer restrictions and the return of clients to salons, we see that besides teenagers and young people, some adults are embracing joy and vibrant colors for their hair,” Ana Paula states. “It’s bold, but we can analyze the color beforehand on the client and also recommend products for better care so the color doesn’t fade,” suggests the hairstylist.
