The embedded system from the startup allows draft beer to be served via the app
MeuChope.com is a craft brewing technology startup from Espírito Santo. The system, produced by the company itself, is an embedded valve that allows the use of brewing equipment autonomously. In this case, the consumer has complete autonomy to choose the draft beer they want and the quantity they desire without having to face lines, depend on waiters, among other obstacles. In other words, it is 100% self-service. Thus, the customer uses their own smartphone to select the available draft beers on-site. Payment is made via PIX.
The MeuChope project involves the withdrawal of craft beer through brewing technology embedded in draft beer dispensers or Kegerators - a kind of vending machine for draft beer. MeuChope's draft beer machine is a refrigerated keg with cold extraction. The equipment ensures that the keg extends the shelf life of the draft beer without the risk of spoilage, maintaining the same characteristics as when it leaves the fermenter.
There are two ways to purchase draft beer: direct purchase via the QR CODE available on the equipment or through the MeuChope app. The app is more advantageous, as consumers have some priorities such as buying cheaper draft beer and purchasing exclusive products from the company, such as eco cups, thermal cups, and caps. Also, through the app, customers can use the map to find all the locations that already have MeuChope technology, such as shopping malls, condominiums, events, etc.
According to Augusto Sato, COO of the company, self-service draft beer was something that already existed. However, without the efficiency and technology that the startup presents. "What we did was bring technology inside. We created a different business model," he emphasizes. "I believe that beyond Tap bars, draft beer should be close to everyone. It can be anywhere! Inside the condominium, in a bar, in coworking spaces, in shopping malls, in various locations. Today we have draft beer machines that are basically a beer cooler with embedded technology," Sato explains.
For the startup's CEO, Bruno Medeiros, the central idea of the MeuChope valve is to bring microbreweries to places they previously did not have access to. "It's about putting this directly in contact with the end consumer, 24 hours a day, as close as possible," the entrepreneur states.
It is important to remember that MeuChope does not manufacture draft beers or beers. As a technology company, the startup works alongside craft beers from each state - microbreweries and small brewing entrepreneurs. With the embedded technology, the company aims to strengthen the craft brewing community by bringing draft beer to places where there are no opportunities for people to get to know craft beer even better. Plans to acquire MeuChope valves are available on the website. Currently, there is a free plan with up to 10 taps with a single store and up to 10 kegs. The basic plan offers up to 30 taps, 30 kegs, and three stores. And the customized plan is negotiated when there are partnerships. In Espírito Santo, MeuChope has 60 active valves operating in perfect condition. In other regions of Brazil, the startup has a total of 93 points. Most of them are in activation. "Customers are receiving the valves, activating them, and undergoing training," concludes Silas de Moraes.
