People have been sleeping worse and in smaller quantities, especially those living in large cities. Therefore, we need to pay more attention to this issue and improve our sleep quality right away!

We must remember that we are diurnal animals, meaning we were designed to wake up as soon as the first rays of sunlight appear around 6 a.m. and to start our rest and sleep period as soon as the sun sets around 7 p.m.

During sleep, our body performs crucial functions with direct consequences for our health. Sleep strengthens the immune system, releases hormone secretion (growth hormone and insulin), consolidates memory, makes the skin more beautiful and healthy, and relaxes and rests the muscles.

sleepWhile you sleep, your brain dedicates itself to a very important job; it organizes the information throughout the day and then stores part of it in memory. Those who do not sleep well end up with impaired memory. It's like the cleaning we do daily on our computer files; we save the good files and throw away the unnecessary ones. Memory retention seems to be profoundly influenced by sleep, especially during the REM phase.

If you suffer from insomnia or simply feel overwhelmed by the stress of daily life, falling asleep may not be as simple as lying down and closing your eyes. Many distractions and stressful thoughts can interfere with your ability to give your body the rest it needs.

You can help yourself fall asleep with self-hypnosis. This is the method in which you focus on yourself, your breathing, and your internal thought process to calm down so you can sleep.

Sleep makes all the difference in people's lives. Daily activities, conversations with friends, work, nutrition, exercise, and even mood depend heavily on each individual's sleep quality. By combining planning and execution of this link in the health chain, we can ensure that both mind and body will be happy.

Lack of Sleep

In the modern world, the time reserved for sleep is getting shorter, and there is a price to pay for that. People with sleep deprivation have a higher risk of developing excessive daytime sleepiness, which occurs when the individual has an uncontrollable urge to sleep or nap during everyday situations and activities.

People with this symptom may experience irritability, difficulty learning, decreased motivation, and performance at work. These individuals are also more susceptible to being involved in traffic and work accidents.
