Saturday features Ney Matogrosso and 'Bloco na Rua'

In a festive atmosphere and inspired by the song of the artist Sérgio Sampaio, Ney Matogrosso arrives in Vitória next Saturday, the 4th, with his tour 'Bloco na Rua'. "I just want to take my block to the street, have fun, and make it groove. I just want to take my block to the street. Swinging, to give and sell," sings the chameleonic Ney at the opening, setting the tone for the show. With his bold movements and enviable physical shape, it’s hard to believe that the dazzling performer turned 81 last August. In the repertoire, Ney chose to mix songs he has recorded with others he enjoys singing. "It’s not a show of my hits, but I wanted to open up more to my repertoire. This time I mixed things I have recorded with repertoire from other artists," Ney points out. The set list reveals diversity: in addition to "I just want to take my block to the street," there are "A Maçã" (Raul Seixas), "Álcool (Bolero Filosófico)" from the original soundtrack of the movie "Tatuagem" (DJ Dolores), and "O Beco" (Herbert Vianna/Bi Ribeiro). Two songs were picked from the double EP Ney Matogrosso and Fagner, released in 1975: "Postal do Amor" (Fagner/Fausto Nilo/Ricardo Bezerra) and "Ponta do Lápis" (Clodô/Rodger Rogerio). In addition to the repertoire, there’s an exuberant costume, custom-made by designer Lino Villaventura: a golden skin made from a material that resembles a very fine metallic knit. Depending on the stage lights reflecting on the metallic fabric, Ney’s outfit can appear greenish, reddish, or bluish. Luiz Stein is responsible for the set design, composed of projections, and Juarez Farinon handles the lighting of the show, under Ney's supervision.
