Brazil holds a prominent position when it comes to the beauty market. According to the Brazilian Association of Personal Hygiene, Perfumery and Cosmetics Industry (ABIHPEC), through its annual market overview - the latest released in July 2023 - the beauty market in Brazil is one of the largest in the world, ranking fourth in the ranking promoted by Euromonitor International.
In addition to vanity, these data reflect the care for health, and among the data, one has caught the attention of the Brazilian Society of Dermatology (SBD), hair loss. After Covid-19, many patients complain about the health of their hair even to this day.
According to Dr. Renata Melo, there are thousands of patients suffering from baldness or experiencing weak hair and affected growth, and thus, various technologies and treatments have emerged to improve or resolve the issue, depending on the case. "We have developed specific protocols for a complete treatment that acts from the recovery of the strands and scalp to hair strengthening and prevention of hair loss," explains the doctor.
"We start with Digital Trichoscopy, which allows us to visualize and analyze the scalp and strands in detail through enlarged images. Then, we use Hair Laser, which stimulates the microcirculation of blood flow, improving cellular metabolism and assisting in protein synthesis," she says.
Next, we apply MMP (Microinfusion of Medications into the Skin) with a new technology that does not use needles. "This pressure technology delivers actives and medications into the deeper layers of the skin, without needles and without pain. It is an innovative technique that makes all the difference in treatment," explains Renata. And to finish, Photobiomodulation is also used. "It is an application of low-intensity laser and light on the scalp that stimulates hair growth, improves scalp health, and reduces hair loss," she emphasizes. Renata points out that besides this protocol, there are several isolated procedures that can assist in hair treatment. "Just an evaluation and we will have the technology that best meets the patient," she says.
