With the mandatory use of masks due to the Coronavirus pandemic, many people have become more aware of their faces, whether due to expression lines, wrinkles around the eyes, or even the shape of the face itself, and are feeling dissatisfied.
According to plastic surgeon Humberto Pinto, facial harmonization is indicated in this case to slightly improve the appearance of the face. “Men and women who want to promote alignment and correction of the face, in addition to filling wrinkles, can seek this technique,” suggests the surgeon, who offers various treatments such as botulinum toxin, hyaluronic acid, and PDO threads.
Last year, in a report published by the International Society of Plastic Surgery, Brazil ranked second in the world for aesthetic procedures, behind only the United States.
Before undergoing harmonization, it is important for the patient to be informed about the procedure and all the risks related to the technique. “It is very important that facial harmonization is performed by a plastic surgeon or a dermatologist,” he states. “This procedure is excellent when well indicated, but being performed by non-medical professionals leads to a dangerous trivialization, especially at this moment we are living in, as only doctors are qualified to treat possible complications,” adds Humberto Pinto.
