Autumn has arrived, bringing milder temperatures. This has become the ideal time to treat the skin. Peeling is among the 'favorite' procedures for patients during this season, as the demand for treatment in offices and aesthetic clinics in Greater Vitória increases.
The technique is used to lighten spots, a common problem after summer due to increased sun exposure. "This is the main reason why patients seek us more in autumn," said aesthetic treatment specialist, dentist Nicoly Dalmasio.

According to doctor Renata Melo, the autumn season is also highly sought after due to the milder temperatures, making it perfect for skin recovery and protection. "Peeling is very versatile and meets various needs, whether in removing skin impurities, spots, controlling open pores and oiliness, as well as smoothing fine wrinkles and, when deeper, acting on skin firmness and cellular nutrition," she emphasizes.
According to dentist Nicoly, phenol, retinoic acid, and trichloroacetic acid peels are among the most requested. In addition to spots, this treatment is used for acne scars and to reduce wrinkles and expression lines.
After the procedure, peeling requires care. "The skin will peel for about seven to 10 days. It will depend on the type of chemical applied. It is essential for the patient to avoid the sun and maintain their home care routine," Nicoly advised.
Peeling is also indicated to prepare the skin for the transition with the arrival of winter. "As it is a treatment that improves the quality, texture, and hydration of the skin, it will help prevent and protect the skin from the cold, where dryness and sensitivity are more present," defines Renata.
