Expansion of the beer market to the world Espírito Santo is on the list of states with the highest number of breweries per capita, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Supply (Mapa), in the latest edition of the Beer Yearbook. In the analysis of brewery density per capita, the state ranks third, behind only Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul, with one establishment for every 72,079 inhabitants. MeuChope – a tech startup from Espírito Santo that produces valves allowing the use of beer taps autonomously – is encouraging new investors to enter this market and a new business model, that of the licensed store. According to one of the CEOs of MeuChope, Augusto Sato, MeuChope offers all the structure and use of the startup's brand. "The licensee just needs to have a property, a location that will be analyzed by us, to become a new MeuChope site," he explains. The investment amount is R$ 30,000, and the licensee will receive full support and training to be a point of sale for the best craft beers from Espírito Santo. "Our technology allows the consumer to have total autonomy to choose the beer they want, in the quantity they choose, without facing queues, without the need for waiters, using their own smartphone to make their selection of available beers, at the location where they are," explains Bruno Medeiros, the other partner leading the startup. Thus, the licensee will only be responsible for their location, as all technology is managed by MeuChope. "Since the entire system is digital, we have access to the moment of beer replenishment, all distribution control, among others," Sato explains. The operation is 24/7, like in various external points where the startup operates, and the investor earns based on the volume sold. "It’s an innovative business, a trend in the Espírito Santo market, where craft beers continue to rise," points out Medeiros.   International operations The Espírito Santo brewing technology from the MeuChope startup is heading to Europe, and one of the partners, Bruno Medeiros, is visiting several breweries, having meetings and preparing to participate in one of the largest entrepreneurship, innovation, and technology events in the world, the Web Summit Lisbon, in Portugal, in early November. The startup, valued at R$40 million from previously conducted business rounds and international fundraising, is investing in expanding distribution channels in the country and potential international operations.
