While short videos on social media drive the popularity of procedures like veneers and whitening, the elite is already betting on more discreet and sophisticated interventions. Among the innovations is the so-called 'skinification' of dental care — a routine inspired by skincare, featuring products like probiotic oral serums, bactericidal LED lights, and oral detox in premium clinics.
According to dentist, implantologist, and Clinical Director of IOS – Instituto Odontológico, Marlei Bonella, the great revolution lies in the union of beauty and functionality: 'The smile today goes beyond the visual: it influences facial structure, breathing, and even quality of life. Veneers can help reposition the bite and restore support to the lower part of the face, which can be compared to a natural lifting. It's aesthetics with health,' she explains.
Another silent but significant change is in Orthodontics. Research shows that children are growing with narrower jaw structures due to the modern diet — softer and less demanding for chewing. This has led to an increase in cases of mouth breathing, misalignments, and the need for braces at younger ages. 'We have already noticed an increase in the use of orthodontic appliances and Invisalign, and a scenario that is growing among adults,' says Marlei.
The expectation is that by 2050, orthodontic and dental treatments will be an essential part of facial harmonization and longevity plans. And, more than just a beautiful smile, the promise is of a healthier, more functional, and longer life.
