Art and photography enthusiasts will have another cultural option to visit in Vitória, starting on the 18th. The exhibition 'Fragments', by Portuguese photographer Pedro Sousa Trêpa, promises to energize Mosaico Fotogaleria.

In total, there are 21 images, produced during travels in different countries, depicting scenes that go far beyond traditional landscapes. They are records that present us with characters, landscapes, architecture, urban abstractions, and completely distinct cultures, through passages in Canada, China, Turkey, Morocco, the United Arab Emirates, France, Portugal, and Thailand.

Those who visit the exhibition will be able to see unprecedented scenes that portray various aspects of the photographed cities, through the artist's very particular gaze. The selection of images includes 18 black and white photos and three color ones.

The curation was a partnership between the photographer himself and the partners of Mosaico Fotogaleria, Gabriel Lordello and Tadeu Bianconi. "Pedro is a photographer from the traditional European school, but his images, captured during travels, do not follow a script or a linear narrative. They evoke a jazz-like quality, with traditional scenes, such as bucolic landscapes, unexpected characters in the streets, cuts that seem to have been taken from an old movie, and details that refer to Matisse," comments Gabriel Lordello from Mosaico Fotogaleria.

Artistic Intervention

Another highlight of the exhibition is two photographs that underwent an intervention by renowned Portuguese visual artist Sissa Afonso.

"These two interventions I made, deviating from the figurative elements of the photos, introduce chromatic components in simple forms of stains. They shift the focus away from the figures and attempt to establish a kind of cross-dialogue with the original images. Thus, through the pictorial elements that insert distinct axes into the structure of the original composition, they evoke new meanings, beyond those originally summoned by the central figures of the photos," highlights Sissa.

Exclusive Soundtrack

Pedro Sousa Trêpa, who is also a music producer, created an exclusive soundtrack that will be presented during the exhibition, including a composition of his own. All this aims to provide a unique experience for the visitors of the exhibition.
