New developments such as sales apps exceed expectations
The pharmaceutical market grew 13.6% from January to October 2020 according to data from IQVIA – a global company associated with auditing, technology, and consulting solutions for the healthcare market – that audits the sector. According to the institute, R$ 113.02 billion was transacted, reflected in the Covid-19 crisis, where sales of vitamins, supplements, relaxants, and antidepressants increased during the pandemic.
Due to this factor and the diversity of products, not only medications but also hygiene and beauty items, the pharmacy market continues to rise, with new technologies available to both consumers and entrepreneurs. Proof of this is the emergence of startups that connect pharmacies in one place. Here, entrepreneur Aníbal Neri has just created Comparte Farma, a platform that connects local pharmacies and entire chains.
"In this app, we connect local pharmacies and small networks, providing a competitive opportunity," highlights the entrepreneur. "We are flexible and without conflicts of interest, transferring the negotiation power to the stores," Neri assures.
The platform already has more than 300 stores and has transacted over R$ 480 million. "Our goal is to further expand the business and the number of participating stores," emphasizes the platform's creator. In the state, the app already serves the capital and all municipalities, as well as 206 cities in 14 other states.
For the platform's Support Director, Douglas Spanghero, one of the attractions is the services offered to participating stores: "We provide legal, regulatory, pharmaceutical advice, medication benefit programs (PBM), and online consulting, which uses technology combined with our own methodology to help pharmacy owners analyze their business to improve the unit's performance," assures the director. And most importantly: it helps small pharmacies achieve competitive prices.
