Best Craft Beer from Espírito Santo

Convento Cervejaria wins award at the Copa Capixaba de Cerveja Artesanal

The partners of Convento Cervejaria, Léo Leal and Anderson Albuquerque, are celebrating another achievement. The craft brewery from Espírito Santo has just received the award with the beer Choco Porter in the ‘Best of Show’ category, in the Chocolate Or Cocoa Beer style, Chocolate/Cocoa/Field Coffee Beer category at the Copa Capixaba de Cerveja Artesanal.

The award ceremony took place on the 13th, at the Circuito Capixaba de Cerveja Artesanal, which is happening this weekend, until the 16th, at Prainha, in Vila Velha, and took place in various cities from north to south of the state.

For Léo, the award is a recognition of the work and all the effort in research to produce the best beer from Espírito Santo. “We are always innovating, looking to bring new things, and the Choco Porter is one of the examples, a beer we created for a special Easter edition that turned out so well, it made it to our beer lineup,” he states.

Another differentiator is that Convento always seeks partnerships with local industries, and the Choco Porter is made with cocoa beans harvested and produced in Linhares, in the northern part of the state.

“Competing with over 200 samples from 40 breweries and participating in a judging panel with experts from all over Brazil fills us with pride and encourages us to always produce the best for the local audience, who are great enthusiasts of craft beers, and for the country,” he points out.

The Copa Capixaba de Cerveja Artesanal is organized by Rota Eventos, in partnership with Aicerva – Association of Craft Beer Industries of Espírito Santo, with support from the Agency for the Development of Micro and Small Enterprises and Entrepreneurship (Aderes), the State Government, Sebrae, and the City Hall of Vila Velha.
