Women are making strides in gaining space in the job market. Now, their participation is growing in the real estate market, a segment that only allowed female presence after 1958. However, in the last decade, women's involvement in this type of business has increased by 144%, according to the latest research from the Federal Council of Real Estate Brokers (Cofeci).
According to the data, they already represent more than 30% of the professionals legally working in the sector. The numbers are certainly much more expressive and indicate an even more significant advancement. This is because Cofeci's research is the most recent in the segment and focused its analysis between the years of 2003 and 2013.
Having worked for over 13 years in the segment, real estate consultant Letícia Rody is among the female names making history for women in the real estate market of Espírito Santo. Today, she is a reference when it comes to luxury properties. “It is very gratifying to realize how much the innovations I have been proposing help improve the market, while also showcasing women's competence in this segment,” she pointed out.
According to her, the qualities inherent to women make growth in this sector favorable. “Women are empathetic, meticulous, disciplined, and inspire trust. In a way, we are sweeter and less invasive in our service. This makes the client feel very comfortable in the sales process,” she added.
For her, all these factors combined with representation are very important to ensure that female presence advances even further in the real estate market. “After all, when we see that other women have achieved this, it inspires us. This is undoubtedly a legacy I want to leave,” Rody added.
