Five months have passed since the world changed and an entire population found itself at home protecting against a virus that still surprises, is being studied, and causes fear. As vaccines are still in the testing phase, the Coronavirus continues to affect many people and cause deaths. In Espírito Santo, cases have stabilized, but caution is still necessary. In the midst of this pandemic, women and mothers are experiencing a situation they never imagined.
An American study conducted by 'Parents Together' showed that 78% of mothers are the primary caregivers assisting their children with most tasks related to distance learning during this period.
“We always took care of the household routine, the children, but we had our professional and personal commitments during the time when the child was in daycare or school. Now we are dealing with the role of mother 24/7, in addition to the responsibility of accompanying the children in online classes due to the school closures,” says influencer advisor Daieny Fasolo.
Baker Juliana Marculano shares that the pandemic brought changes for the entire family. “Before, my daughter would go to school at 1 PM, and now she is with us 24 hours a day. The good thing is that we are closely following her growth, but there are days that are more stressful for both us and the children, who are full of energy and want to run a marathon, haha,” says Juliana. “Currently, my husband and I manage to balance our work routine in our studio with our daughter by our side, who, according to her, is helping us.”
