Inauguration of Arena APX BTG Reserva Vitória

Vitória will gain another space for beach tennis practice. The Reserva Vitória Complex, located in Enseada do Suá, has allocated an area next to the sales booth of the real estate development (which is in front of Curva da Jurema beach) and will launch on the upcoming October 8th, the Arena APX BTG Reserva Vitória, which will be another option for practicing the sport that has captivated Brazilians and the world.

The Arena - a project from the partnership between APX Invest, BTG Pactual, Nazca, and Abaurre Construtora - will energize the sports and cultural scene of the state, hosting events and many promotions. "In addition to the area for practicing the sport, we will have events, actions in partnership with various companies, the goal is to further energize the upcoming summer scene," guarantees one of the directors of Nazca, Breno Peixoto.

History of Beach Tennis

Beach tennis was created in the mid-1987 in the province of Ravenna, Italy. In 1996, the sport began to professionalize. Currently, this sport is a mix of traditional tennis, beach volleyball, and badminton, and its rules and practices have been changing over the years. According to the ITF, it is practiced by over 500,000 people across all continents, regardless of gender and age.

The modality arrived in Brazil in 2008 in the state of Rio de Janeiro. Since then, beach tennis has been rapidly growing to other coastal cities in Brazil. It has gained popularity even in non-coastal cities, such as Belo Horizonte, Brasília, and Araraquara. Among the places with the highest number of practitioners are Rio de Janeiro, Fortaleza, Santos, Vitória, Florianópolis, Porto Alegre, Mogi das Cruzes, Guarujá, João Pessoa, Salvador, Campina Grande, Cachoeira de Itapemirim, Novo Hamburgo, Natal, Brasília, Maringá, and São Paulo. Today, according to the ITF, Brazil is the second-largest force in the world in this sport, behind only Italy, the country that created the modality.

Currently, the Brazilian Tennis Confederation is the entity that regulates the sport in the country. The success of beach tennis in Brazil and around the world is due to the ease with which a person learns to play and the fun it provides even for those who have never played before.
