Meridional Hospital holds meeting between transplant recipients and families

This Friday (27), the National Day of Organ and Tissue Donation will be celebrated, and to highlight the importance of this date and further encourage donations, Meridional Hospital will hold a meeting tomorrow (25) between transplant recipients and families. An event that touches hearts and shares life stories, featuring testimonials from individuals who successfully underwent the procedure and left the waiting list.

Among the objectives is to honor the patients who have received organ transplants. At the meeting, they will share their feelings about the moments they experienced, the process they went through, and the role of their families in this journey. The initiative also aims to raise awareness in society about the importance of organ and tissue donation, representing the main concept of this type of procedure: saving lives.

According to the clinical director of Meridional Hospital, Marcus Vinícius Leitão, the meeting will provide attendees with the opportunity to reflect on life through the patients. “These measures are of utmost importance for families to understand that the realization of the donation process is only possible with the understanding and solidarity of everyone, as families are responsible for authorizing procedures in patients diagnosed with brain death,” emphasizes the doctor.

Meridional Hospital is a reference in this type of procedure and the largest solid organ transplant center in Espírito Santo, with 1,147 registered transplants. The institution will carry out actions in honor of the campaign throughout the week. In addition to the meeting held this Wednesday, there will be a distribution of 250 plant seedlings at Moxuara shopping center with information about organ donations on the 27th to mark the National Day of Organ and Tissue Donation.
