Since the beginning of the pandemic caused by the new coronavirus (Covid-19), parties have been limited to more intimate celebrations, without the crowd that was common at many events. As a result, the home can gain a new space – just like the home office – that promises to stay even after the pandemic: it is the home bar. Besides its daily utilities, this environment has also gained prominence during live music performances, marking that more relaxed moment with family.
It can be in a "corner" of the kitchen with repurposed shelves, trays, and even a tea cart transforming into a charming space to present and organize some types of drinks. The novelty has already become an attraction that can be part of the permanent decoration in the property. Depending on the occasion, enjoying a drink in the comfort of home can be a good idea for a night out, even with a dinner for a couple, for example.
According to the consultant from Moveis Conquista, Adriana Lovatto, an ideal space to set up a drinks area can be the balcony. “Any corner is a good place, but the suggestion takes into account that moment when many people enjoy relaxing while appreciating a good view. Another interesting option is a corner of the living room, which can be a small bar or even a sideboard that can make room for a tray with the items. The environment can be the perfect place to enjoy a drink while listening to good music to socialize with family or enjoying a good movie, for example,” she recommends.
Both the accessories and the drinks themselves can be acquired gradually for setting up the Home Bar. It is possible to make several adaptations to prepare this space and even make it relaxed. “A shelf with niches of various sizes can give rise to a very different version of a bar, including a combination of drinks and some types of glasses, adding a lot of charm to the place,” she suggests.
If the idea is to start slowly in displaying items, without that arsenal of brands to fill a piece of furniture, the tip is to use a tray as a base. “This way, it is possible to prepare it in any corner of the house. For example, in the kitchen, it can add a special charm with a mix of types of drinks and different bottle shapes. In the living room, it can be used with a sideboard or a dresser, and you can also incorporate plants, books, and magazines to compose the decoration of the space,” the consultant indicates.
