In recent years, the nose has become a prominent feature when it comes to self-image. This is because, with the boom of selfies, video calls, and virtual meetings, many people have started to notice the details of their faces more closely, as it is always in the foreground.
To give you an idea, according to data from Google Trends, a Google tool that shows the most searched topics, during the pandemic, searches for corrective nose surgery increased by 4,800%.
Enio Leite, a dentist and specialist in rhinoplasty, reveals that for some people, aesthetic treatments have become part of their monthly budget, as the benefits include well-being, quality of life, and increased self-esteem.
“The nose is the center of the face, where details make a big difference, greatly influencing the aesthetic harmony of the face. Rhinomodeling, which is a technique that uses nylon threads, a material well-accepted by the human body, aims to correct small imperfections and make the face more harmonious. It involves repositioning the cartilages, and once healed, the result is permanent,” he concludes.
The specialist also emphasizes that the excessive use of filters on social media has created an unattainable object of consumption, meaning many project themselves onto the filters, wanting to have the face they see.
“That’s why it’s important to choose a qualified professional, as they will respect and gauge each person’s limits without affecting the patient’s health, since there is no standard of beauty; each face has its particularity, and my role is to hide small imperfections and highlight what is most beautiful,” he concludes.
