Formemus 2024 opens call for artist and band showcases

Formemus 2024, a festival, conference, and one of the main showcases of new and vibrant Brazilian authorial music, announces the opening of registrations for showcases. The event is in its 6th edition and invites individual artists, bands, and groups of musicians from all over Brazil to present their original works on the main stage of the event. Registrations for the showcases can be made until May 5, 2024, through the website www.formemus.com.br or via the link in the bio on Instagram. Formemus is sponsored by EDP and ES Gás, with production direction by Saurá Projetos Culturais and Instituto Parceiros do Bem. It is organized by MM Projetos Culturais and the Secretary of Culture of ES, through the LICC - Law of Incentive to Capixaba Culture.

The showcases are short musical performances aimed at highlighting authorial music and the artists' performances, attracting the attention of the public, music industry professionals, opinion makers, and the press.

To apply, you need to submit three links to distributed songs, have at least two videos of live performances, send two high-resolution promotional photos, and a portfolio. The selection criteria will be based on originality, performance, musical quality, and interpretation, as well as the organization of the submitted material. Musicians and bands from all over the national territory are invited to participate.

A total of 9 performances will be selected in free category and format, prioritizing authorial music, including instrumental groups. Formemus will also offer a fee of R$ 2,000 for the selected artists and accommodation, limited to 4 people, for groups from outside Espírito Santo.

Additionally, as a full activity of the event, Formemus promotes and fosters a space for emerging artists to conduct music business, expand their networks with key professionals in the music industry, record label representatives, music producers, festival organizers, and journalists,” emphasizes Formemus co-organizer, Simone Marçal.

Formemus won the 2021 Profissionais da Música Award in the Fairs and Conferences category.
