You might have hepatitis and not know it! Therefore, this Friday (15), tests for detecting the disease will be conducted for free at the Laranjeiras Terminal in Serra, from 3 PM to 8 PM.
The initiative was conceived by the Rotary Club of Serra and Vitória, in partnership with the educational institution Grau Técnico Serra. The project is called Hepatite Zero. “It is a contagious disease. By 2022, the Ministry of Health diagnosed 264,000 patients. We cannot stand idly by. We need to raise awareness among the population and encourage them to seek help,” explained the director of Grau Técnico, André Carvalheira.
According to him, rapid tests will be conducted on the population. “It will be possible to identify which individuals are infected with hepatitis B and C. The test results will be ready in 20 minutes and sent to the patient's WhatsApp. All positive results will be directed to health units,” he informed.
The expectation is to conduct around five thousand tests by March 2024, with actions planned in terminals and squares with a high concentration of people. The Hepatite Zero project has the partnership of the Health Department of Serra (Sesa).
