What brings good results is back! After the success of the action in September, hepatitis detection tests are back!! From October 18 to 21, Carapina Terminal in Serra will host professionals who will conduct free tests for the population, from 3 PM to 7 PM during the week and on Saturday (21), from 8 AM to 12 PM.
The action was conceived by the Ministry of Health, Rotary, the Health Department of Serra, and the educational institution Grau Técnico Serra. The project is called Hepatite Zero.
Rapid tests will be conducted for the population, and it will be possible to identify who is infected with hepatitis B and C. The test results will be ready in 25 minutes.
According to the director of Grau Técnico, André Carvalheira, around 1,500 people are expected to be served over these four days. “As it is a contagious disease, this action is of utmost importance, and a location with easy access and daily movement was chosen,” he says. “We need to raise awareness among the population and encourage them to seek help,” he explained.
The expectation is to conduct around five thousand tests by March 2024, with actions planned in terminals and squares with a high concentration of people. Positive results will be forwarded to the CTA/SAE.
