You may have hepatitis and not know it! Therefore, until Sunday (12), rapid tests for disease detection will be conducted for free at Parque da Cidade, in Valparaíso, Serra, from 4 PM to 10 PM. The action takes place during the Expor Serra event.
It will be possible to identify which individuals are infected with hepatitis B and C through rapid tests. The test results will be ready in 25 minutes. All positive results will be directed to health units in Serra.
The action was conceived by the Rotary Club, Sesa, and Grau Técnico Serra. The project is called Hepatite Zero. Director of the Grau Técnico institution, André Carvalheira explained that on the days of the tests, around 500 people are expected to be attended. “As it is a silent disease, this action is of utmost importance. We need to raise awareness among the population and encourage them to seek help.”
The Hepatite Zero project has the partnership of the Health Department of the Serra City Hall. The expectation is to conduct around five thousand tests by March 2024, with actions planned in terminals and squares with a large concentration of people.
