From October 6 to 31, Espírito Santo will host the largest professional education competition in the country in the goods, services, and tourism sector. This is the third edition of the Senac Professional Education Competitions, which value learning through the exchange between school and the job market.
The Senac Ilha do Boi Hotel, in Vitória, will host the competition, which involves the participation of 47 competing students from 20 Brazilian states and the Federal District, as well as a judging panel composed of renowned professionals. The participants, aged between 18 and 22 years, were selected after a rigorous testing phase in their regional units and trained by the Senac teaching team. All received the necessary technical and behavioral support for high performance during the competitions.
To comply with COVID-19 prevention protocols, there will be no audience on-site, which will host only competitors and evaluators. The event will take place in a staggered manner, with weekly tests, covering two categories at a time.
The tests will be broadcast live on the internet through the website www.senac.br/competicoes. They will last an average of 40 minutes to 4 hours, depending on the proposed challenge. There are seven occupations in total: Kitchen, Aesthetics and Wellness, Florist, Hairdresser, Hotel Reception, Health Care and Social Support, and Restaurant Service.
The young participants must complete tasks common to the daily routine of each occupation and are evaluated based on their performance. At the end of the Senac Competitions, the best will step onto the podium and begin to dream even bigger: they may be selected to participate in WorldSkills, the main global professional education competition, which will have its next edition in China next year.
Students from Senac in Alagoas, Amazonas, Bahia, Ceará, Federal District, Espírito Santo, Goiás, Maranhão, Minas Gerais, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Pará, Paraíba, Pernambuco, Paraná, Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Norte, Rio Grande do Sul, Roraima, Santa Catarina, and Sergipe are participating in the challenge.
