Founding partners Augusto Sato and Bruno Medeiros of MeuChope.com are linking economic development to improved use of natural resources in their company through Circular Economy.
The beers available in their self-service machines can be purchased in larger quantities in 'growler pets', the big bet of the craft brewery. "We are not held hostage by cans and bottles monopolized by the large brewing industry," explains one of the partners, Augusto Sato.
According to the entrepreneur, the growler is made of plastic and the container holds one liter of beer, and once opened, it is ideal that the beer is consumed within seven days. "We provide the bottle for free and with high turnover, we pay attention to sustainability and have a collection point at MeuChope.com for both plastic cups and growlers, precisely to carry out this waste reservation process."
The waste collection is done 24 hours a day at the MeuChope.com company address located at Av. Desembargador Lyrio, 390 - Mata da Praia, Vitória.
Convento Cervejaria is also engaged in raising awareness and is attentive to environmental issues. One of its actions is to donate one of the ingredients of the capixaba craft beer, the malted barley spent grain - to feed dairy cows at Fazenda Itaiobaia in Serra. "We could have done another type of disposal, but we are concerned about sustainability and the production chain. This seemed to us to be the best way to finalize one of the production stages. We even joke that these are cows that feed on imported malt, but produce Brazilian milk, which turns into capixaba cheeses," says Léo Leal, one of the partners of the capixaba craft brewery.
