It is no secret that fashion and music influence each other. Artists and creators connected to the music scene continue to serve as strong style references. Whether collaborating on special fashion collections or embodying brands, the truth is that the two areas perform a perfect marriage, shaping cultural movements and influencing young people around the world. And we don’t need to look abroad for examples in this regard. The duo Drunk & Play, formed by the capixaba music producers Lucas Cesquim and Lúcio Merçon, are featured in the latest campaign of Burban, a streetwear brand that has just been launched. With clicks by Daklys Gomes, the photoshoot was produced in the Center of Vitória, in Espírito Santo. MODA: IMPORTANT FOR THOSE WHO WORK WITH ART "Without a doubt, image is something important for those who work with art, especially in the music field," defends Lucas Cesquim. He further explains that fashion and style are recurring themes in conversations with his colleague at the turntables, Lúcio Merçon. "I have always liked the subject, but I confess that it was Lúcio who brought me back to this universe," he adds. For Lúcio Merçon, the connection with fashion is not new. "Fashion and music are an important part of my daily life. I keep up with new trends launched by designers, both classic and innovative, as well as the shows of the brands I like the most," he explains. INTERNATIONAL EXPOSURE Another point that drives this duo's connection with fashion is the exposure stemming from their projects. With a newly released EP by the Belgian label LouLou Records, Drunk & Play divides their time between gigs and the role of A&R at Toro Rec. Lucas and Lúcio are now also responsible for the relationship with other artists at the brand new TORO label.
