The reunion between Dire Straits Legacy and the fans from Espírito Santo is next Thursday. The British band Dire Straits Legacy arrives in Vitória on the 25th with the tour "For You South America 2024". Promising to deliver a nostalgic atmosphere, the show takes place at Espaço Patrick Ribeiro at 9:30 PM. Tickets are already on sale at the venue's box office or on the BlueTicket website and start at R$ 180 (half-price).
Promoting a journey back in time to the 1970s and 1980s, unforgettable hits such as "So Far Away", "Walk of Life", "Romeo and Juliet", "Money for Nothing" and many others will be performed. The Dire Straits Legacy project is made up of musicians who participated in different phases of the original band's lineup and aims to keep the Dire Straits legacy alive.
Currently, Dire Straits Legacy includes keyboardist Alan Clark, who was part of Dire Straits from 1980 to 1985, saxophonist Mel Collins, a member from 1983 to 1985, guitarist Phil Palmer, bassist Steve Walters, drummer Alex Polifrone, and keyboardist Primiano Dibiase. Among the vocalists are Marco Caviglia and Danny Cummings, who are also guitarists and percussionists, respectively.
How Dire Straits Legacy was born
With over 17 million monthly listeners on Spotify and 1 billion views on YouTube, Dire Straits has established itself as a global phenomenon. And to stay on top, now with Dire Straits Legacy, fans are witnessing the birth of new compositions.
The project emerged in 2009, when former members of the original lineup decided to keep the band's work alive. The main driving force behind getting everything off the ground was drummer Pick Withers. At the time, the initiative was known as Dire Straits Legends. It was only in 2013 that the band began to be called Dire Straits Legacy, as we know it today.

Alan Clark (keyboard)
A member of Dire Straits in 1980, Alan was the first and main keyboardist. He was the co-producer of the band's last album, "On Every Street". With an extensive career, the musician has also been a member of Eric Clapton's band and served as musical director for Tina Turner for years. Recently, in partnership with Phil Palmer, he produced the album "3 Chord Trick" for the Legacy.
Phil Palmer (guitar)
Regarded as one of the greatest guitarists in the world, having produced 450 albums and toured with some of the biggest artists globally, Phil joined Dire Straits in 1990 and played on the album "On Every Street" and its world tour. A curious fact is that the musician was also a member of Eric Clapton's band, where he met his Dire Straits Legacy colleague, Alan Clark.
Mel Collins (sax)
A longtime member of Dire Straits, Mel joined the band in 1982. He participated in the album and tour "Love Over Gold", as well as the album "Twisting by the Pool". The saxophonist was also part of the original lineup of King Crimson.
Steve Walters (bass)
Steve Walters has become a reference in bass playing, having worked with great names such as Mariah Carey, Amy Winehouse, Jimmy Cliff, Rod Stewart, Chaka Khan, and many others.
Alex Polifrone (drums)
Graduated from the renowned Conservatory of Cosenza, Alex has been a member of the musical group Il Mito New Trolls since 2011. Recently, he performed in several cities across Europe with DSL.
Marco Caviglia (vocals and guitar)
Known for forming the band Solid Rock in 1988, Marco toured with the Notting Hillbillies' bluesman, Steve Phillips, in 1990. However, it was in 2010 that he fulfilled one of his dreams by becoming a member of DS Legends, and now again with Dire Straits Legacy.
Danny Cummings (percussion and vocals)
Danny was part of Dire Straits in 1990. The percussionist participated in the album and tour "On Every Street". Additionally, he was the drummer for Mark Knopfler for years.
Primiano Dibiase (keyboards)
Famous for working with renowned artists such as Richard Bennett and Steve Phillips, Primiano is a talented keyboardist who has worked on various successful albums.
