Father's Day, celebrated on August 10, draws attention to a fact regarding beauty: men are also taking better care of themselves, and the market is responding. In Brazil, the men's beauty segment stands out, with the country occupying the fourth position globally in beauty product consumption and leading the launch of new solutions for the male audience, according to the Brazilian Association of Personal Hygiene, Perfumery and Cosmetics Industry (Abihpec).
In addition to the growing consumption of cosmetics specifically for men, there is also a surge in the search for technological and non-invasive treatments. According to Dr. Renata Melo, hair care leads the ranking of their inquiries in her office.
“We have been attending many men looking for solutions for baldness, hair thinning, and more pronounced receding hairlines. They come motivated both by vanity and the desire to take care of themselves as a whole,” says Renata.
Among the standout procedures is needle-free mesotherapy, which uses electroporation technology to deliver active ingredients directly into the skin, without cuts or discomfort. “It is a modern and effective alternative for those who want to treat the scalp painlessly, with visible and progressive results,” she adds.
Thinking of complete and personalized care, the doctor developed the protocol Regenera Hair, which combines different technologies to treat from the roots of the hair to strengthening the hair itself. The protocol begins with a digital videodermoscopy — an imaging exam that assesses the health of the hair — followed by laser application, which stimulates circulation and activates cellular metabolism, includes microinfusion of medications that directly combat hair loss, and finally, photobiomodulation, responsible for reducing inflammation and strengthening existing hair.
A great gift tip for them. “Father's Day is an excellent opportunity to reinforce that taking care of oneself is also an act of self-love,” points out Renata.
Dermatologist Karina Mazzini also confirms men's skin care: "They are taking better care of themselves, whether with home care or procedures at the clinic." According to the doctor, most men's skin is oily, so the main tip is to use a good soap to deeply cleanse the skin, without forgetting hydration. "People need to understand that even the oiliest skin needs to be nourished and hydrated. Nowadays, we have a lot of great products to use, both in serum and oil-free lotion, as well as in gel, to use at night,” she says.
Sunscreen is also an important step, especially for those fathers who work in the sun or engage in outdoor activities. "In these cases, they need to remember to reapply the filter and also have external protection, such as a cap or hat, to protect the scalp and the hair shaft," explains Karina.
