In the last 10 years, there has been a reduction in the wage gap between women and men. The index measuring wage parity increased from 72 in 2013 to 78.7 in 2023. The data is from the survey Women in the Labor Market, conducted by the National Confederation of Industry (CNI) based on microdata from the Continuous National Household Sample Survey (PNADc) of the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE). The study also revealed that female participation in leadership positions increased from 35.7% in 2013 to 39.1% in 2023. Last year, in June, the federal government enacted a law that guarantees equal pay between men and women and establishes measures to make salaries fairer, according to the website of Agência Brasil.

According to psychoanalyst and neuroscientist Joseana Sousa, the female journey has never been easy. “Many times, we balance multiple roles - as professionals, mothers, wives - while facing the pressures and demands of everyday life. It is a routine that tests our resilience and determination, but also reveals our incredible capacity for adaptation and perseverance,” she explains.

For Joseana, “women have a unique history, and an unparalleled power and potential, and every obstacle that strengthens and brings us closer makes us achieve our goals,” she says. Thus, the neuroscientist encourages women to never doubt their own worth and capabilities. “Believe in yourselves, in your dreams, in your limitless potential, stay alert to laws like these - which are created to benefit us women who are building so many empires alongside the male figure, without the due recognition - to be enforced and conquer your journey even with challenges,” she points out.
