The current scenario of the corona virus pandemic and its disease, COVID-19, is marked by closed businesses and worried entrepreneurs. Bills are piling up and the 'account' is not balancing. There are no sales, no cash flow, and at the same time, money is going out.Events are being canceled and postponed, factories have halted production, and commerce is closed. Thousands of people are facing extreme financial difficulties and have nothing to eat at home.
I have observed entrepreneurs from various sectors with differing opinions. Some supporting the government, others against it. Those who were in favor are now against, and those who were against have become even more opposed. It’s as if we are on a plane in mid-flight with some rooting against the pilot.
But after all, who will have less wear and tear from the corona virus crisis?
Crises (not like this one with the corona virus) are not new to us. I can speak from moments I have lived through. The first, which I experienced, was when former president Fernando Collor and his minister Zélia confiscated savings accounts. I remember the distress of many entrepreneurs, including my father.
We have also gone through other problems, such as avian flu, H1N1, mad cow disease, the millennium bug, climate issues, local and global economic recessions, drivers' strikes, police strikes (ES), and many other complicated moments. And what have we learned? What have we done to prepare for the next problem? We think: "After all this passes, our lives will be better." What we can be sure of is that after one crisis, another will come, in greater or lesser proportion.
Therefore, knowing this, we must be prepared for the next "war." I am reminded at this moment of the story of the grasshopper and the ant: While one enjoyed the moment, the other prepared for the worst that would certainly happen.
Another important aspect to reflect on: Besides being prepared materially, we must also be spiritually prepared. What have you done to nourish your spirit? Perhaps it’s time to think a little about this, to believe in something. We must always have hope for better days, to believe that everything will work out. Surrender to this. Set aside your shame, stop worrying about what "others" will think of you. It’s never too late to start practicing spirituality.
In light of all this, I conclude that the people who are coming out and will come out with less wear and tear are those who prepared for all this. The people who have faith, the people who learned from previous crises and did something to minimize their future problems.
So, what to do in this current crisis?
Once, I read in a book (The Secrets of the Millionaire Mind, author: T. Harv Eker): Thoughts generate feelings which in turn generate actions, and these actions generate results (PSAR). In other words, for every issue, think deeply about it. Feel as if you have already achieved the goal of that thought. Start acting to reach that feeling and the results will come.- What should I do now in my professional life to avoid this in the future?
- What can I do now to nourish my spirit?
- In what aspect of my inner self should I change today?
- How should my relationship with others be from today on?
