Due to the social isolation measures recommended by health authorities, brokerages – like many companies – have adapted to this new moment, addressing the reality of the country. At the insurance brokerage Ilha Azul, for example, in addition to facilitating the hiring of services, they are also offering new clients services so that vehicle owners can carry out tasks without the need to leave home.
One such service is Self-Inspection. According to Karolynne Cavedo, Benefits Superintendent, the idea is that in this format the client themselves conducts the inspection on their car, with online supervision from professionals, thus avoiding physical contact. "This modality aims to contribute to social isolation, preventing the client from needing to travel with the vehicle. When hiring the insurance, the person receives a link from the company via text message, and they perform the inspection on their vehicle themselves, with photos taken by the insured," she explains.
The professional also notes that the demand for new policy subscriptions has decreased along with the sales of new and used vehicles, which have also seen a significant reduction. "Even so, we notice that there is an awareness of the importance of insurance for people, and those who already have it are not letting their policies lapse. Therefore, we have been offering special conditions for pricing and payment methods for these services – with options up to 12 installments, interest-free," she shares.
Thus, it is evident that in light of the difficulties faced by everyone, brokerages have shown sensitivity to the situation and the need for people to keep their insurance active, especially since vehicles are being parked for longer periods and are more susceptible to unforeseen events, for example. "The coverages and services have not been altered in any way, and the services are being provided normally, as this is an emergency activity. Therefore, they cannot be halted and continue without any changes, complying with all the norms and protocols recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO)," she informs.
