After nearly a year of renewing her look with bariatric surgery, singer Jojo Todynho, who has already lost 50 kilograms, decided to undergo a few more plastic surgeries. She announced on her social media that she underwent procedures to remove excess skin and fat from her abdomen and back and also to slim her waist. According to plastic surgeon Humberto Pinto, it is common for post-bariatric patients to seek surgeries. "This usually occurs after one or two years; this is the time we ask for the patient's weight to stabilize," says the doctor. In the case of the singer, and her struggle with obesity, with the weight loss that has already occurred, it is normal for excess skin to appear. "What happens is that when the patient undergoes bariatric surgery, the skin and tissues of the body do not have enough elasticity to adjust to the reduced size of the body, thus there is a need for plastic surgery," he explains. According to plastic surgeon Humberto Pinto, it is essential to remove excess fat and flaccidity and improve the shape and tone of the underlying tissue to achieve the desired results in post-bariatric plastic surgery. Additionally, the patient must follow some guidelines, such as maintaining stable weight, not having chronic health issues (such as diabetes or heart disease), and waiting 18 months after bariatric surgery to undergo plastic surgery.
