What procedures are sought after? According to plastic surgeon and member of the Brazilian Society of Plastic Surgery (SBCP), Humberto Pinto, silicone implants, liposuction, and abdominoplasty are the most requested. "Women and men want to get their bodies in shape, feel good, and some take advantage of the period for the procedures," explains the doctor. Humberto reports that since this period is vacation time for many, it is the best time for the procedure. "This is one of the advantages, the recovery time which usually lasts about 30 to 60 days depending on the surgery," he states. Among other advantages, we have the climate that helps with nutrition. "In summer, the tendency is for people to have a more balanced diet, making it easier to follow the post-surgery diet, and during this time of year, you also have more support with more people available," says the surgeon. First summer post-pandemic The surgeon also notices an increase in the office for requests for procedures as it is the first summer happening post-Coronavirus pandemic. "In 2020, the offices were closed, and many dreams were postponed. Some patients also preferred to wait for the complete vaccination cycle to return to the clinics, so it is a high period full of expectations," says the doctor.
