Chocolate has become the main ingredient in the Porter beer from Convento Cervejaria, an exclusive craft beverage produced by the brewery located in Serra, Espírito Santo. The novelty features roasted malts with natural chocolate aromas and an extra load of special roast cocoa seeds, developed to enhance the Easter lunch of 2021.
“The beer is a Porter, dark in color. In our case, it is dark brown and presents aromas with notes of light and toasted chocolate in the mouth, medium bitterness, and a gentle sweetness to balance. The alcohol content is relatively low for the style, at 5.2%,” explained Léo Leal, partner of Convento and one of the creators of the beverage.
He also mentioned that the “Choco Porter,” the name given to the beer, contains cocoa almonds harvested and produced in Linhares, Northern Espírito Santo. The supplier of this product is Espírito Cacau, a famous chocolate industry from Espírito Santo, with distribution throughout the country and abroad. “We want to unite two great passions: beer and chocolate. We seek high-quality products and have always preferred those from Espírito Santo. The result is a rich, malty beer with an intense aroma and perfectly balanced chocolate flavor. Everything produced in Espírito Santo,” concluded Léo Leal.
Convento Cervejaria will sell the Choco Porter beer in a kit containing two 500 ml bottles and a 150-gram Espírito Cacau Easter egg, made with 70% cocoa. The kit is priced at R$ 69.90.
