With the heatwave and warmer temperatures, it's difficult to walk the streets, be exposed to the sun at the beach, pool, etc., and in the summer it's important to pay attention to the use of sunscreen.
Among the options on the market, some doctors have recommended the use of sun protection capsules as an alternative to traditional cream sunscreens. But do they really replace conventional sunscreen? What are the benefits of these capsules and what is the best approach: taking them and skipping the cream filter or combining both?
According to Dr. Renata Melo, sun protection capsules help protect the skin from damage caused by ultraviolet (UV) rays. “They protect the skin from the inside out, as if providing an additional layer of defense,” she explains.
However, they should not be seen as a direct replacement for cream sunscreen.” The capsules can be considered a complement to traditional sun protection methods,” says Renata.
The combination of both approaches maximizes effectiveness in preventing premature skin aging, reducing the risk of skin cancer, and maintaining overall skin health.
