The 2021 report from the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS) confirms: the butt is a national preference
In Brazil, 102,900 procedures were performed in the gluteal area, making Brazil the leader in the ranking of countries that perform plastic surgery. According to plastic surgeon Ariosto Santos, the highest demand comes from the female audience. "Women seek gluteal plastic surgery to maintain a firm, lifted butt with a rounded shape. Silicone implants in the glutes are ideal for women who are slim and have a flat-looking butt. The implant is becoming increasingly common in the office, thanks to the good permanent results and a post-operative period that is less and less painful," says Ariosto.

He notes that the implants placed in the glutes can be oval or round in shape and vary in volume from 180 to 300 ml. In the office, we can even use measuring implants (test) with tight clothing to identify the best shape and volume of the implant," he adds.
The gluteal implant surgery lasts two hours, and the hospitalization is for 24 hours. In the first five days post-surgery, the patient should avoid sitting or lying on the implants, and it is advised that the client sleeps on their stomach. "The first physical activities, such as driving, are allowed after at least 15 days," recommends the doctor.
For those who are above their ideal weight, the implant surgery can be combined with liposuction to make the results even more visible. "A good option is also liposculpture, which consists of removing excess fat from the sides of the belly (flanks) and implanting it in the glutes to increase their volume," says the doctor.
He adds that another advantage of the procedure is that, by removing excess lateral fat, the waist becomes thinner, and consequently, the curves of the hips become more pronounced, which alone gives greater prominence and visibility to the glutes. "However, it is worth noting that the fat grafting in the glutes is not permanent and over time it is absorbed by the tissue, and if the patient wants a definitive result, they should opt for the implant," says the doctor.
