Belgian beers have a tradition in the brewing market. Following the trend of always bringing unique and exclusive flavors to the locals, Convento Brewery launches this month the Belgian Tripel, a craft beer inspired by Trappist breweries, which are located within monasteries in Belgium.
According to one of the partners at Convento, Léo Leal, “the variety of flavors is surprising and has a high alcohol content, ranging from 7.5 to 10.5%, being considered some of the most alcoholic produced within these monasteries,” he emphasizes.
With over two thousand years of history, there are now hundreds of different Belgian beers, each with its own particularities. The main stars of Convento's Belgian Tripel are the yeasts. “In this case, a blend of yeasts from two distinct strains, the already famous Saccharomyces cerevisiae and bruxellensis, bringing all the Belgian strength into the glass,” explains Leal.
“The malts – also Belgian – are present and come from the ‘Castle Malts’ malt house, which add body to the drink,” adds the businessman.
