Capixaba author launches children's book with signs in Libras

A book inspired by the desire to have the representation of the deaf world for children. This will be the first book for children by author Zalba Dias, titled 'In the World of Capopeia'.

The launch of the work takes place this Saturday, August 7, at the Multilivros bookstore in Shopping Jardins, in Jardim da Penha.

According to Zalba, the book tells the story of a green caterpillar who is deaf, and her world awakens creativity, imagination, and fantasy. It includes stories, activities, and some signs in Libras to stimulate learning, as the work has the perspective of inclusive education.

“Who hasn’t, as a child, observed an insect? The path of an ant walking, a butterfly, a beetle, a caterpillar. Our story takes place in a different yet very similar world to ours. It was inspired with love for those who like insects, whether they are alike or different, with activities and also Libras (the official language of those who communicate with their hands),” explained Zalba.

The author is from Espírito Santo, and her first work was as a co-author in 2015 of a book that discusses the signs in Libras related to Espírito Santo.

During the launch, some gifts will be available for those who purchase the book, and of course, an autograph from the author.

Multilivros has also prepared, until August 7, an exhibition of books with the theme Parents & Children, in addition to a fair of adult literature books, all with up to 30% discount.

The event takes place from 4 PM to 7 PM, entry is free and will only be allowed with the use of a mask.
