According to architect and décor influencer Eduarda Santos, even though "the square footage of houses is indeed larger, there are resources that can make an apartment feel spacious and house-like. It goes far beyond just using mirrors on the walls," she said.
She emphasizes that integrating spaces is essential. "Unifying rooms opens up visual perception. Therefore, I see a larger space and feel like I'm in a big environment. Merging the living room and kitchen in rectangular layouts is a suggestion. Using a covering that creates lines on the ceiling greatly helps to create this visual continuity," detailed the architect, who is also the editor of the blog Casa Casada.
Another suggestion is to focus on the functionality of furniture. "Investing in a multifunctional panel can reduce the need for other decorative objects and provide more circulation space. Thinking about furniture that goes beyond traditional use helps a lot," she added.
