Have you started planning your mid-year vacation for 2024? No? Then you need to hurry, as spots for January are already sold out at most travel and exchange operators, and the search for interesting proposals for July is in full swing.
For those who aim to secure a spot in an exchange program, a business boot camp, or are curious about how a Premier League team operates, there are some very interesting options.
According to Jackeline Guasti, director of Experimento Intercâmbio, it’s essential to start planning what will be done, how, and gather the necessary reservations from now on. “You can’t do things without planning. If you intend to travel, start preparing immediately,” she advises.
Regarding traditional exchange programs, one option that has been drawing attention is the combo Cambridge/Spain. The program consists of two weeks of cultural immersion in one of the oldest cities in the UK. There, participants will experience the daily life of the local community, staying in student houses.
“During this stage, you will be able to enjoy elective activities such as: theater, photography, football, basketball, and journalism, as well as tours through the city’s canals, the university gardens, Harry Potter Studios, and London,” says the entrepreneur, who has traveled to over 30 countries and has more than 30 years of experience in the field.
After these two weeks that promise to be intense, the cherry on top will be a week-long tour of Spain. A country with a vast history and many fabulous places to visit.
The tours will include visits to Madrid, the Prado Museum, and a night of flamenco dancing. This will be unmissable! The visits will also cover Andalusia, to see Córdoba, Ronda, Granada, and Úbeda, in addition to a visit to the city of Málaga. “Just imagine the cultural baggage from an opportunity like this!” highlights Jackeline.
Exchange with football
For football enthusiasts, there’s nothing better than experiencing a training program at a Premier League club and meeting exceptional players and the most acclaimed coach of the moment.
This will be possible through two unforgettable weeks of training at the City Football Academy, where the Manchester City’s youth and women’s teams train. The program also includes English classes and a visit to the Etihad Stadium to see how things work behind the scenes.
Additionally, you will be able to participate in press conference simulations, a youth team training session, and take on the role of a football commentator or analyst, all in English. “Oh, there will also be a visit to the National Football Museum. It’s going to be amazing!” she assures.
Silicon Valley
There’s also an option for those who have a bit more experience and have been young for a longer time. For technology lovers, this is an unmissable option, the Silicon Valley Bootcamp!
This option gives you the opportunity to attend lectures by professionals from NASA and IBM, for example, in areas such as artificial intelligence, augmented reality, virtual reality, social media, quantum computing, among other topics.
In addition to the lectures, participants will be able to take guided tours of companies like Facebook, Instagram, HP Garage, among others, and take the opportunity to visit Stanford and Berkeley, two of the most prestigious universities in the world.
During the boot camp, it will also be possible to visit the Golden Gate in San Francisco, the Computer History Museum in San Jose, Santa Cruz Beach, where surfing was born in the USA, San Francisco Premium Outlets for some shopping, and a very special dinner at Woodside, Steve Jobs’ favorite restaurant.
This program is unmissable for those who are technology enthusiasts and its developments. “Just imagine the opportunity for a business immersion right in the center of the most innovative decisions of our daily lives. It’s not for everyone!” claims Jackeline.
It’s always good to remember that for this option, you will need to prove an intermediate level of English at a minimum, so you can take full advantage of all the activities.
Jackeline reminds that reservations should be made in advance to organize the trip calmly. “This ensures that the exchange student will feel more secure, make the investment, and pay gradually while clearing up any doubts. Additionally, spots are limited,” she concludes.
