Students from the Agostiniano Educational Center (CEA), a school located in Vitória, learned today, November 14, about the value of money during a lecture given by Paulo Costa, consultant, financial mentor, and author of the newly released book, "Dinheirofobia". The event, aimed at high school students, sought to contribute to the formation of young people, so they become adults with financial intelligence: without fear of having, losing, or earning money.
According to Paulo Costa, the information shared is precious and can change the lives of these future adults. “Today I shared a lot of relevant financial information with over 100 high school students from Agostiniano. This experience made me reflect: what if I had had the opportunity to receive this teaching when I was a teenager? Imagine where I would be! I’m doing well, but I could be even better,” he pointed out.
Student Maria Eduarda Silva da Vitória, from the 2nd year of high school, really enjoyed the lecture, as it helped her become aware of the importance of valuing money and investing whenever possible. “I really liked learning about finances. It was an excellent initiative from the school! I learned the value of money, that saving and not spending on frivolous things is having wisdom and financial intelligence. For example: You already have several sneakers, and you want another one just because it’s in fashion. But you don’t need that new sneaker. In this case, the right thing would be to save that money, because every amount you save daily, in 10, 20, 30 years, will bear fruit: 1 real can turn into 1 million!” she said.
Ana Júlia Seixas Cortez, a student in the 1st year of high school, also congratulated the school for offering the lecture and said she learned the path to save ammunition (money). “I really liked the learning experience because now I will have a better understanding of how to spend my money intelligently to achieve what I desire. Additionally, I learned that we should not waste the opportunities life gives us simply out of fear of failing. Every human can fail, but we have to take risks. Another important thing is to remember that we should always save ammunition, create a savings plan, to make a beneficial negotiation possible: an opportunity,” she declared.
