Fábio Costa's workshop focuses primarily on his research of movement on the floor. It is a blend of Contemporary Dance, Urban Dances, and Improvisation. The artist seeks to share some of the techniques he has acquired while working with different Companies and Directors in Brazil and around the world. Fábio Costa is an independent dancer who has worked with various dance companies in Brazil. He is currently a collaborator with Camaleão Grupo de Dança (BH), acting as a performer and creator. Additionally, he is a Contemporary Dance teacher at the Cia de Dança Palácio das Artes (BH) and at Minas Tênis Clube. He is also a social educator for the project Desembola na Ideia, aimed at supporting youth in conflict with the law. In 2020, he premiered the solo performance “Umbigo do Sonho” under the direction of psychoanalyst Musso Greco. The goal of the Festival with the workshops is to create a space for exchange, offering participants the opportunity to reflect on their own practices while promoting an exchange of cultures and diversities among artists. “Participants are guided by invited professionals, who propose and conduct activities to develop skills, exercise creativity, and enhance talents. Furthermore, it is a way to promote broad discussions on contemporary dance, facilitating the acquisition of new learnings of both conceptual and practical nature,” explains Giselle Tápias, artistic director and curator of the festival, alongside Flávia Tápias.
