The International Dance Festival Dança em Trânsito brings Larissa Ramalho, a master's degree holder in Dance from Université Paris 8, to conduct a choreography creation residency in Colatina from July 21 to 25. Free and limited registrations!

As part of the programming for its 21st edition, the International Festival ‘Dança em Trânsito’, which will take place in various cities in Espírito Santo from July 26 to 30, fulfilling its role of training and educating dancers wherever the festival goes, will promote a free choreography creation residency in Colatina for dancers from Espírito Santo from July 21 to 25. With limited spots available, registrations can be made through the website https://www.dancaemtransito.com.br/. The workshop will be led by the choreographer from Amapá, Larissa Ramalho. She will guide the participants of this workshop in creating a choreographic work centered around the idea of Trajectories. Through body games and sharing a vocabulary of movements previously constructed by the choreographer, a choreographic work will be created, whose main inspiration will be the personal experiences of daily displacement of the participants. A trip to work, a return home at the end of the day, a visit to a friend on the weekend: in Trajectórias, the paths, thoughts, and daily experiences are transformed into movement and shared through the language of dance. Larissa Ramalho holds a degree in Dance from Faculdade Angel Vianna (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) and a master's degree in Dance from Université Paris 8 (Saint-Denis, France). She worked in Paris (FR) as a dancer and choreographer from 2017 to 2021. Her choreographic research focuses on the relationship between memory, perception, and danced movement. Her last two authorial projects, “Diaphragme” and “Le bruit des mots”, took place in the Paris region in 2018. Between 2019 and 2021, Larissa worked with the German artist Ulla von Brandenburg on the projects “Le milieu est bleu”, presented at Palais de Tokyo, and the films “Le milieu est bleu” (“The middle is blue”) and “Fesste erde, flüssiger wind” (“Solid earth, liquid wind”). Currently, Larissa resides in Rio de Janeiro and works as a contemporary dance teacher at the Centro de Movimento Deborah Colker and Espaço Tápias. These professionals create choreographies for the artists in the cities where the creation workshops are held, and these new choreographies will follow to other city(ies) with the festival. “The idea is to strengthen the exchange of experiences and broaden the knowledge of new forms of creation used by other choreographers, both Brazilian and foreign,” adds Giselle Tápias, artistic director and curator of the festival, alongside Flávia Tápias. Dança em Trânsito 2023 For 21 years, the Dança em Trânsito project has brought together artistic performances, training, capacity building, reflection, and exchange among dance groups from various cities in Brazil and around the world. The festival enables exchanges of experiences between invited national and international artists and companies and encourages the development of dance languages. With the distinctive feature of showcasing prominent works in the current scene and occupying not only various theaters but also urban spaces, each new edition extends access to new audiences, prioritizing the democratization of culture and reinforcing the commitment made to strengthen and promote contemporary dance in harmony with other cultures and segments of dance, as well as with Brazilian popular culture. The festival has already passed through Rio de Janeiro between February and April, then continued to the Czech Republic. And this July, the festival began its already traditional national itinerary, which this year will pass through 33 cities, divided into three circuits spread across the five regions of the country, until October 14. And several cities in Espírito Santo have been chosen to host this major event, from July 26 to 30, with programming in Colatina, Baixo Guandu, Vitória, and Vila Velha. Swiss Nicole Seiller, Belgian Loraine Dambermont, and Brazilians Fábio da Costa, Mário Nascimento, and Mavi are some of the attractions that will arrive here with performances and a series of actions for the diffusion and democratization of dance, which include three types of artistic residencies; training and job generation for multiplier teachers; discussion circles and specific workshops.
