Government creates Law to promote children's shows and parties

Children's shows and parties have gained government support to boost their activities until 2027. During this period, the sector will benefit from the Emergency Program for the Recovery of the Events Sector (PERSE), established by Law No. 14.148/21. The goal is to provide conditions for companies in the area to grow and thus compensate for the consequences of the pandemic.

Zeroing the rates of PIS, COFINS, IRPJ, and CSLL is one of the proposed benefits. The reduction can be requested since March 2022, which pleases entrepreneurs. “Without a doubt, it is the necessary breath to ensure the continuity of activities for both companies that were open before the pandemic and those that were created during this phase,” pointed out Juliana Barbarioli, partner at JBL Produções and responsible for providing musicians and organizing private shows in Espírito Santo.

In the children's segment, event planner Daieny Fasolo believes that post-pandemic, families also felt the need to gather their loved ones again and celebrate, after all, the experience was challenging for everyone and even more sorrowful for those who lost someone,” she states.

According to her, there are several innovations and new features that further enhance the parties. “From time to time, new things emerge, such as sublimated panels according to the party theme, covering an entire environment, from the floor to the ceiling; balloons in various sizes creating compositions in the decoration; rental of toys, live characters; snacks on the spot that are not from the buffet (those served in candy and popcorn carts), etc.

Daieny explains that in addition to organizing the parties, selecting all suppliers, location, and present team, she has been providing consulting services for children's birthdays.

“In this case, I assist the family in choosing and hiring suppliers, and on the day of the event, the party is up to the parents; we do not send the team, there is a saving, and the client feels satisfied and secure with the service provided through recommendations,” says the event planner.

In addition to children's parties, Daieny has been working for over 13 years with weddings and also caters to 15th birthday parties and corporate events, having already completed more than 600 events.

Paragraph 1 of Article 2 of the Law refers to the activities that would be included in the aforementioned events sector. They would be: (i) – Holding or marketing congresses, fairs, sports, social, promotional or cultural events, business fairs, shows, parties, festivals, symposiums or performances in general, event houses, social and children's buffets, nightclubs and performance venues; (ii) general hospitality; (iii) administration of cinema screening rooms; and (iv) provision of tourist services.
