Coworking has become an ideal space for professionals from different fields and locations to gather and exchange ideas
The increasingly globalized and technological world contributes to the emergence of professionals who work from anywhere in the world, dubbed 'digital nomads,' who have technological immediacy as an ally and use the internet to connect with their clients, colleagues, and projects with just a few clicks. This type of independent professional often makes extensive use of shared workspaces, which offer office spaces, technology, and good internet connectivity, known as 'coworkings.' According to a survey by the International Workplace Group (IWG), there was a 93% increase in the search for collective workspaces in the first quarter of 2022, compared to the same period the previous year.
Recognizing this market demand, Erik Lorenzon, founder of NaCapital Coworking in Vitória, reveals that coworking has become an ideal space for professionals from different fields and locations to gather and exchange ideas. With extensive knowledge and experience in the field, Erik believes that such spaces and work are the trend for the future and is already planning to expand his business. “The sector is expected to grow significantly, as indicated by the research cited by IWG, meaning that in the coming years, around 26,000 new coworking spaces will be spread around the world. This indicates a growing trend of remote work and demand for shared workspaces, especially among digital nomads,” explains the entrepreneur.
Another insight from the entrepreneur is that this business model has attracted the attention of real estate investors. “Many are already planning to install coworking spaces in the upper floors of corporate developments, keeping an eye on the space as a way to rent their properties in a 'retail' format. It is even a product we are going to launch in February,” revealed Erik Lorenzon.
