The ArcelorMittal Choir brought emotion to EMEF Ceciliano Abel de Almeida in Itararé last Thursday. Conducted by Maestros Adolfo Alves and Ângela Volpato, the choir is the oldest in the State. The performance was part of the celebrations for the group's 37th anniversary, and the invitation was made by the Municipal Secretary of Education of Vitória.
Currently composed of 43 members, the choir is dedicated to cultivating music in its best essence. With a repertoire that spans songs from the capixaba folklore, excerpts from operas, classical cantatas, and songs by popular composers, and with a clear intention to associate popular taste with musical knowledge to evoke emotion and satisfy the capixaba audience, the choir is accompanied by pianist Gracia Maria and musicians Jairo Hortêncio on guitar, Izaque Hortêncio on bass, and Maressa Machado on drums.
And there are more special performances coming up. In the coming months, the ArcelorMittal Choir will complete its series of performances with confirmed dates in Venda Nova do Imigrante, Domingos Martins, and Rio Novo do Sul.
Currently, the choir is managed by MM Projetos Culturais, with sponsorship from ArcelorMittal, via the Capixaba Cultural Incentive Law - LICC, with executive production by Duana Peixoto and Fernanda Holz.
