33rd edition of Game Master: event gains more and more space in the capixaba scene

[gallery ids="39319"] This Saturday, the 11th, another edition of Game Master takes place starting at 9 am, at the Food Court of Masterplace Mall. Board games are a great option for fun and passing the free time. Whether with family, alone, or with friends. The main objective of the event is to introduce people to a new form of entertainment that is healthy and away from electronic devices. Monopoly, Risk, Chess, and Checkers are some of the most famous and traditional board games nationally. Who has never played, at least has heard of them. In some, luck is predominant. In others, it is necessary to devise strategies and be bold. And the matches can last for hours. Lucas Tassis, partner and co-founder of the project, explains that Game Master introduces gamers to other types of board games. "The games we bring to the events are quite different from this style; they are based on mechanics that aim to keep the game balanced and fun, whether through heavy strategies or simple but well-made mechanics. The games focus on the players' experience, which is why they are more predictable and therefore less frustrating," he explains. Game Master emerged in 2019, when the hobby was still not very well known among capixabas, from the idea of promoting modern games to a larger audience. Friends and game enthusiasts Lucas Tassis, Luiz Fernando Tom, Winston Spencer, and Mario Cravinhos decided to organize an open and free gaming session on their own. Reaching its 33rd edition this weekend, the event boasts a diverse and ample collection for the 10-hour duration of GM. The partners' collection has 400 different games, and at each meeting, there are about 80 to 100 boards on display for gamers. "There are board games for all tastes. From those that are cooperative, for family play, to others for teasing friends, advanced strategy games, and also those for laughter. The boards are for everyone, without exception," explains Mario Cravinhos, one of the partners responsible for the ever-growing project. For those who want to learn a bit more about the games or even make new friends, the event takes place on the second Saturday of each month, and volunteers are available to teach the rules and answer questions. "The focus of our events is board games, but we often have tables with people playing RPGs; everyone is welcome. Our meetings are always full of fans, who often spend the whole day with us.
